Rangers 5, Capitals 4, SO

It wasn't ugly, but it was not pretty either. Three times giving up goals within a few minutes after scoring their own. A horrific power play in the third period that should have put the game away. Check that- a good power play would have put the game away. Continue to throw out the 4th line and play for the overtime and shootout and you get a shootout victory.

Wade Redden played over 27 minutes and had another bad night. It just something you have to get used to, I guess.

As frustrating as he was, you can't help but miss Michael Nylander, especially when it was his turn in the shootout. Not that the shootout is anything to complain about with the Rangers this season.

Aaron Voros is trying to prove something, but I don't know what that is.

Great effort by Lauri Korpikoski and Ryan Callahan, but too bad they do not get rewarded with power play time.

Anyone notice Montreal lost again last night, 7-2? The Rangers are now actually in 5th. But watch out behind you- it's been a long time since we had to say that a game in Florida was a big game, but that's what the next one will be.
