Ollie's back

The Mets have reached a deal with Oliver Perez, pending a physical. It's three years for $36 million.

This is a good deal. It's no more than three years, which is the key, for a reasonable amount of money. It was not the reported initial offer of $10 mil per season, but what do you expect? You know what you're getting. Derek Lowe wanted more than three years. Watch the Braves wish they did not hand out that contract come 2012/2013.

If you're scared of which Perez shows up which game, think about this: starting with the June 29th game vs the Yankees, his 3rd start after Dan Warthen took over as pitching coach, Perez had an ERA of 3.50 and a WHIP of 1.32. I think you'll take that consistency any day.
